The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), in consultation with the Medical Council of India (MCI), has reduced the deduction percentage required to fill vacant seats. As per the official notice, the revised PG cutoff has been reduced to 20 percentile for each category.
The central government has approved reducing the NEET PG 2020 cut-off mark to 20 percent for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for NEET-PG 2020. The cut-off marks will now be 44 percent for the general category, 39 percent for disabled candidates, and 34 percent for SC, ST, and OBC candidates. Eligible individuals will be eligible for admission to postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2020.

In terms of the number of vacant seats left after the end of the subsequent rounds of counseling, the Medical Council of India (MCI) in consultation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) reduced the cutoff for NEET PG 2020 for all categories have given. Amit Biswas, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has stated that the Central Government has decided to reduce the qualification marks in NEET – PG, 2020 after consultation with the Medical Council of India (MCI).
The official notice for NEET PG 2020 revised cutoff
The statement said that the Central Government has requested all the states to make necessary arrangements for the students according to the revised merit marks in any round of counseling this year. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) was also advised to submit a revised merit list for all states.
NEET PG 2020 Cutoff Type
NEET PG cut off 2020 will be considered for admission to the following postgraduate medical courses:
- 50% All India Quota Seats (Excluding East Jammu & Kashmir State)
- 50% state quota seats (including Jammu and Kashmir state)
